Alan Deering

Managing Director 

Alan, the founder of Harcourt Capital, has over 20 years’ experience in the financial services sector. Specialising in commercial lending, development finance, and capital raising, Alan has a proven track record in delivering bespoke financial solutions for investors and developers. His deep understanding of cashflow lending, and financial modelling combined with his hands-on experience in commercial real estate and loan management, positions Harcourt Capital as a trusted partner for clients seeking strategic financial guidance. Prior to establishing Harcourt Capital, Alan held senior roles at Initiative Ireland and IBRC, where he managed a loan portfolio in excess of €1.5bn, credit proposals, and developer relations. His leadership at these firms has honed his ability to navigate complex property transactions and secure the best returns for his clients. Alan is a Qualified Financial Advisor (QFA) and a Member of the Institute of Bankers in Ireland (IOB). He also holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from UCD and has completed diplomas in Real Estate Investment and SME Credit and Lending. His experience and commitment to excellence continue to drive Harcourt Capital’s growth and success in providing tailored financial solutions.

John Donegan - Real Estate Consultant

 

John is a Chartered Valuation Surveyor by profession and has a strong track record in the real estate industry, with over 15 years’ experience in the commercial and residential property markets in Ireland. With previous roles as a divisional director in Cushman & Wakefield and consultant to Sherry FitzGerald Commercial, John has worked with some of the most prominent stakeholders in the development sector, including developers, funders, industry bodies and design consultants.

Frank Walsh - Tax Consultant 

Frank is a former Tax Partner in Grant Thornton. He advises clients and corporates on the most efficient tax benefits and group structures. Qualifications - FCA, ITI, Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) & member of Irish Tax Institute (ITI).

Dr. SeánO'Reilly -Sustainable Finance Consultant 

Seán is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at UCD College of Business and Academic Director for the Masters of Accounting Programme. Seán is a registered Consultant and Finance Specialist with the European Bank, advising on several international projects. Seán qualified as a Chartered Accountant at PwC, he is a member of Chartered Accountants Ireland and holds a MSc & PhD (entitled Essays in Entrepreneurial & Green Finance).
